+ Do I need an appointment?
We strongly encourage you to book your appointment ahead of time. At this time, we do not handle appointments over the phone.
The information you provide during the registration process will be securely and safely stored on our encrypted servers and transmitted to our laboratories.
+ Do you accept my insurance?
All insurers are covering 100% of RT-PCR testing costs during this time as part of the national emergency plan (read more about the CARES Act here), and you will not be responsible for copays or deductibles. Sameday Health accepts all insurance for standard RT-PCR testing (the RT-PCR priority with insurance will not be covered by insurance). However, coverage for rapid antigen tests varies across insurers, so we recommend confirming your coverage with your insurance provider before submitting a rapid test reimbursement.
+ What if I receive a bill from my insurance?
Please email billing@sameday-testing.com with any questions related to billing. Sameday Health and our laboratory partners will not hold you responsible for any balance not paid for by your insurance.
+ How much does the Priority RT-PCR test cost?
We offer two priority RT-PCR tests: priority and priority insurance. Our priority test (fastest turnaround) costs $175. If you elect the priority insurance option, you will be responsible for a $75 out-of-pocket charge to expedite the test.
+ How is Sameday providing a faster turnaround time?
We use a custom-built and fully integrated software system connecting our clinical staff and partner laboratories. This allows us to consistently deliver the fastest turnaround times.
+ What documents are provided after testing?
You will receive a PDF report of your results via email and SMS that also doubles as a travel certificate valid for traveling.
If you need additional documentation for airline traveling, including a Doctor's Signature, please email support@sameday-testing.com.
+ Will my test results be accepted by my destination?
Our test results are not currently accepted by Hawaii, Jamaica, or Japan.
Please be sure to check with your airline and destination about any specific testing requirements they may have prior to scheduling an appointment.
+ What is a RT-PCR diagnostic test?
A reverse trascription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) diagnostic test can show if you have an active coronavirus infection and will determine whether you need to take steps to quarantine or isolate yourself from others. RT-PCR tests detect the virus’ genetic material and are considered the gold standard for COVID-19 testing.
+ What is a Rapid PCR diagnostic test?
A Rapid PCR diagnostic test can show if you have an active coronavirus infection and will determine whether you need to take steps to quarantine or isolate yourself from others. The speed, precision, and reliability of molecular testing helps detect the presence of an inactive infection. To conduct a test, a swab of the nose is taken. Then the swab is placed into an acidic liquid solution heated to 132.8⁰ F that cracks open the envelope of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, exposing its viral RNA. Results are returned within 1 hour, as opposed to the longer turnaround times of the RT-PCR tests.
+ What is a Rapid Antigen test?
We offer the Rapid Antigen test from BD. The sample is collected via a mid-nasal swab and the results will be available within 15 minutes as the samples will be processed on-site with the BD Plus Analyzer. You will receive results within 30 minutes of taking your Rapid Antigen test. Please find more information about the test and its performance here. FDA summary.
+ What is an Antibody test?
We offer the COVID-19 Rapid Antibody test by Azure Biotech. Our antibody test assesses previous infection with COVID-19 by checking for IgG and IgM antibodies in your blood, collected using a finger prick. A positive test does not guarantee immunity to the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Testing and results are processed on-site by a licensed medical professional and will be available within 15 minutes. Patient Fact Sheet
+ How is the antibody test administered?
The antibody test is administered using a finger prick and lateral flow chromatographic immunoassay.
+ Is the sample collection painful?
No, the test will not hurt! Our test kits are validated for anterior mid-nasal collection, which means that the swab is inserted less than one inch into the nostril. This collection process is much more comfortable than the nasopharyngeal collection used in most hospitals and public testing locations.
+ How can I get tested?
Simply book an appointment on our website.
Arrive at the testing site 5 minutes prior to your scheduled time. Once there, our clinicians will guide you through the next steps.
+ How will I find out my results?
You will receive an e-mail and SMS notification with login information to our portal once the results are received from the lab. You will be able to download your result report in PDF format to easily share it with your employer, family or airline.
+ Can I bring my child?
Yes, absolutely. We have Registered Nurses and CMAs on site, who can keep your child accompanied while you are getting tested. Parents can remain in the testing area or with their child to comfort them while they are being tested. To help prepare your child for their testing experience, we recommend you provide them with an explanation on why they are getting tested and share with them the following information. Our friendly staff will be wearing masks and face shields to keep people safe and are there to help. Explain that our RN/CMA will swab the inside of their nose with a cotton swab and that it may tickle a little and be uncomfortable, but it will not hurt them.
+ When should I arrive?
Please arrive to our testing site 5 minutes prior to your appointment time. If for any reason you are running earlier or later than your appointment time, we will be able to accommodate you.
