STD Testing at Sameday Health — Now available in the DMV
We are excited to announce that we are expanding sexual healthcare to the East Coast. STD testing will now be available at our Georgetown, Alexandria, Capitol Hill, and Silver Spring clinics. So, what is STD testing and what does Sameday Health offer?
A sexually transmitted disease (STD) is a disease or infection that is spread between people usually during vaginal, anal, and oral sex (Planned Parenthood). Sexually transmitted diseases are very common in the United States because people often contract an STD without realizing it. It is important to understand that anyone that is sexually active is at risk of contracting an STD (Planned Parenthood). One of the most important things that can stop the spread of STDs is to get tested. The CDC recommends that sexually active adults get tested for syphilis, chlamydia, gonorrhea, and HIV at least once a year, and every 3 to 6 months if you have multiple partners (CDC). At Sameday Health, we offer two different testing options to test our clients for the most common STDs, including Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, Herpes, HIV, Hepatitis B and C, and Syphilis.
Our first STD test offering is the Twin Panel. The Twin Panel tests for Chlamydia and Gonorrhea, bacterial infections that are quite common. The test requires a urine sample, which you will provide in-clinic. We offer both insurance and self-pay options. Our second STD test offering is the Extended Panel. The Extended Panel tests for Syphilis, Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, HIV 1, HIV 2, Herpes Type 1, Herpes Type 2, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, and Hepatitis C. This test requires a blood sample and urine sample. Like the Twin Panel, you can use either insurance or choose our self-pay options to book.
At Sameday Health, we are working to reinvent STD testing and treatment. Our services are discreet and fast, with results available in just 3 days to your personal and secure client portal. Should you need it, we can also connect you with a medical professional for a virtual care appointment from the comfort of your own home.
